Our Horses  (double-click the picture to get a bigger view)

Special Equestrians owns nine horses that are trained for therapeutic riding.  Our horses are the key to the success of our program.  To become one of our horses is a great honor, as we choose these most special friends to perform with the highest degree of patience, love, and ability.  These horses provide the vehicles for our riders to grow, learn, rehabilitate, and simply enjoy life.  This page is to introduce and honor these wonderful friends of ours.  Many of our horses are donated to the program.  If you are interested in donating your horse to Special Equestrians, you must read our horse donations guidelines and fill out a preliminary form.  The form can be faxed (239-226-1279) or mailed (PO Box 61528, Fort Myers, FL  33906-1528) to our office.    If your horse meets our criteria, we will contact you for an initial visit.
Horse Donation Information & Forms

This is Kaama, our faithful and loving Fell pony. We nominated her for NARHA horse of the year in 2003.

This is Nicky, our adorable Haflinger Horse. With his flaxen mane and tail, he will steal your heart.

Rainy is a beautiful Paint mare who has become one of our most dependable horses. She is Cracker Jack's buddy in the pasture.

Whiskey is a paint quarterhorse. He loves people and he would love to be your best friend. He has a very smooth trot.

Daisy is a Haflinger mare. She looks like Nicky's sister. She has a gentle nature, and she likes to go slow.

Summer is an Appaloosa who is very patient with independent riders. She is pretty and just the right size.

King is our little P.O.A. pony. For some of our very young riders, he is just the ticket.

Nora is our Welsh Pony. She was a hunter pony in her former career.

Cracker Jack is a Paint gelding who was donated to Special Equestrians in 2006. He is solid and dependable and he has beautiful blue eyes.
